Sc., and John T. Kelly, M.D., Ph.D., have joined the firm. Dr. Polakoff and Dr. Kelly join a distinguished team of more than 250 professionals, including physicians, nurses and administrators serving the critical healthcare industry as part of the firm's Health Solutions group.
Dr. Polakoff will serve as Senior Managing Director and Chief Medical Executive of the firm's Health Solutions group. Dr. Polakoff brings to FTI Consulting 35 years of experience in healthcare delivery, product development, network development, care management, organizational and business development, policy formulation and communications. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dr. Polakoff established Polakoff Boland LLC, a healthcare management consulting firm focused on clinical effectiveness and accountable care organization (ACO)/clinical integration development.
Dr. Kelly will serve as Managing Director of the firm's Health Solutions group and lead its Clinical Transformation offering. Dr. Kelly brings to FTI Consulting 30 years of experience as a physician, manager and consultant with senior management roles in clinical performance improvement, healthcare quality management and clinical information management. In his new role, Dr. Kelly will focus on providing performance improvement and ACO/clinical integration development for health systems, payers and other clients seeking to enhance the quality, efficiency and excellence of clinical care delivery. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dr. Kelly was a partner at Polakoff Boland LLC and Chief Medical Officer at Huron Consulting.

Dr. Polakoff holds a B.S. from Cornell University; an M.S. in environmental sciences from Rutgers University; an M.P.H. in epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley; and an M.D. from Wayne State University. He spent two years at Oxford University studying medicine/healthcare policy. He has authored six books and more than 185 articles and has written a weekly nationally syndicated health column. Dr. Polakoff also has served on the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley; the University of California, Irvine; and Stanford University. He is board certified in preventive medicine with a sub-specialty in occupational/environmental medicine.
Dr. Kelly holds a B.A. from Amherst College, an M.D. from Harvard Medical School and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He has been a board member of the National Committee for Quality Assurance, National Association of Health Data Organizations, the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group and other distinguished organizations. Dr. Kelly has served on the clinical faculties of the University of California, San Francisco; the University of Chicago; and the University of Pennsylvania.
