(NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced that Paul Downie, co-founder of the Strategic Communications practice in Perth, will rejoin the firm after taking a hiatus to pursue personal interests. Downie will serve as Senior Managing Director and will be based in the firm's Perth office, though he will be responsible for helping to grow the business and serve clients throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
During his three-year tenure with FTI Consulting, Downie played a pivotal role in building the firm to be the leading communications consultancy in Australia, consistently leading the M&A and equity capital markets transaction rankings. Downie specializes in the financial institutions and mining sectors, particularly in regards to corporate transactions, but is equally known for successfully managing sensitive issue-based campaigns.

Downie commenced his consulting career in 1992 to offer specialized finance and investor relations communications programs in Western Australia. After amassing a strong client following, Downie co-founded an independent consultancy in 2002, which was acquired in 2008 by FTI Consulting. Previously, Downie was a journalist, having begun his career with The West Australian newspaper in Perth and then serving as a senior Federal Parliamentary press gallery reporter with The Australian newspaper in Canberra.
