LONDON, Oct. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organisations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced the appointment of Richard Baxter as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Indirect Taxation in the Company's European Tax Advisory practice. He will be based in London.
Mr. Baxter has more than 25 years of experience advising both the public and private sectors across a wide range of industries specialising in indirect tax. He has advised both major UK and U.S. multinationals on domestic and international value-added tax ("VAT") issues, partial exemption methodologies, transaction-based VAT-planning, indirect tax compliance, customs duties, VAT technology applications projects (including supply chain related matters) and tax litigation. He has managed cases at the VAT Tribunal, the Higher Courts and the European Court of Justice. In his new role, Mr. Baxter will be responsible for providing clients with senior counsel regarding commercial VAT solutions.

Mr. Baxter joins FTI Consulting from Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, where he served as Head of the Global Indirect Tax Service Line since 2009. Prior to this, he helped build Deloitte's Indirect Tax Technology and Assurance practice, following a four-year term as Head of the UK Indirect Tax team at Andersen.
