WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced that Robert Filek has been appointed the global leader of the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice within the firm's Corporate Finance/Restructuring business segment. Mr. Filek, will assume the role from the current practice leader, Ed Bartko, who will retire in April of this year.

In his new role, Mr. Filek will oversee the growth strategy for the Transaction Advisory Services practice, which helps clients maximize value and minimize risk during the acquisition and divesture process by offering comprehensive due diligence advice and support in evaluating the risk/return considerations of the transaction. Over the coming years, the practice will continue to add intellectual capital in the United States and key financial markets around the world including Continental Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Mr. Filek joins FTI Consulting from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Partner in Transaction Services and most recently served in a national capacity. Over his 24 year career Mr. Filek has worked on some of the most complicated transactions in both the private equity and corporate arenas. His deal experience includes consulting on over 300 transactions globally representing both buyers and sellers, and he has led transactions that have received recognition, including one that was voted best transaction by Business Week in 2000. Mr. Filek has appeared as a repeat guest on CNBC and Bloomberg TV as well as Fox News. He has also been quoted in leading wire services and publications on corporate finance. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
